Tenant fee ban

This April will see the long-awaited Tenant Fee Ban come into force. As an ethical estate agency, we have mixed views on the new legislation and it remains to be seen how great an impact this will have on both tenants and landlords, not to mention letting agents. At the core of the legislation is the view that the landlord should be covering the costs normally attributed to the tenants. The controversial element of this is that the landlord will put these costs back onto the tenant via higher rents.
